Seton Hall to Expand of Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics

In alignment with South Orange-based Seton Hall University’s new strategic plan, the Stillman School of Business is expanding its trading room and relaunching as the Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics to accommodate the needs of students now and in the future.

Since 2004, Stillman students have combined classroom concepts with real-world practice, and the innovative financial trading room replicates a Wall Street experience. Students studying in finance classes, participating in the Student-Managed Investment Fund or competing in (and winning) the CFA Institute Research Challenge have fully leveraged the room and its resident Bloomberg terminals.

App State business students take state, regional and continental titles in 2021 CFA Institute Research Challenge

BOONE, N.C. — Five Appalachian State University business majors made history this year with a trifecta win in the 2021 Chartered Financial Analysts Institute Research Challenge. The Walker College of Business Broyhill Fellows team took home state, regional and continental titles — the latter a first for App State. The team also advanced to compete as one of the top five teams in the challenge’s Global Final.

First Citizens Bank forecast shows business confidence | News

RALEIGH, N.C. — Small business owners have indicated a renewed sense of confidence for growth in their businesses during the year ahead despite the ongoing global pandemic, according to a new survey.

The seventh annual First Citizens Bank Small Business Forecast found nearly 80% of respondents polled are confident or very confident in business growth over the next 12 months, which is a 9% increase since September 2020 and a return to pre-pandemic levels.

Of the states in which the survey was conducted, California had the highest increase in business growth confidence — a 19% increase over the last six months with 84% of respondents expecting a strong year ahead.

Forty percent cited COVID-19 as a top concern impacting their ability to meet their business goals this year, which is an 11% decrease from just six months ago, and 25% of business owners stated that COVID-19 increased demand for certain
