Lake County Fairgrounds To Begin Offering Drive-Thru Vaccinations; ASPIRA Business & Finance High School In Logan Square Hosting Friday Vaccination Clinic

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago area residents have three new options for getting a COVID-19 vaccine.

Lake County’s health department said it will begin taking walk-ins on Saturday at the Lake County Fairgrounds vaccination site.

Any Illinoisans ages 16 and older, and anyone who works in Lake County can go from noon to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; or from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

You can also get the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine at Chicago State University, which began offering drive-thru vaccinations on Thursday.

The site is open from noon to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. No appointment is needed.

Federally funded mass vaccination site coming to Bon Carre business center

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Friday, the White House announced the Bon Carre business center will become a mass vaccination site.

“It just makes sense logistically, you know we are right here on Florida Blvd, most people all throughout the parish can get here” said District 6 East Baton Rouge Metro Councilman, Cleve Dunn.

The plan is to bring shots directly to underserved communities.

“This is undoubtedly going to be a game changer in our fight against Covid 19” said East Baton Rouge Mayor-President, Sharon Weston Broome.

According to the White House, the site will be able to provide 3,000 shots per day for up to 8 weeks.
