Team Trump’s New Social App Looks Exactly Like Twitter

Another Twitter alternative has cropped up from the right as conservatives shun — and are kicked off of — mainstream social media apps.
Team Trump rolled out a beta form of GETTR on Thursday, as Politico reported, a response to what many on the right say is censorship of conservatives on large internet platforms. Both Twitter and Facebook have exiled former President Donald Trump over his role in the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
Insider downloaded the app to check it out and noticed something peculiar — it looks a lot like Twitter, one of the platforms that conservatives have criticized.
It’s also well ahead of Twitter in Apple’s App Store rankings at No. 16, according to App Annie, with users like conservative news outlet Newsmax, Republican Sen. Josh Hawley, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and former Vice President Mike Pence. Trump will reportedly not join since he is still planning to build his own social platform.
Here are 3 ways that GETTR looks just like Twitter. Twitter declined to comment for this story.
