This summer, Sharath Raj ’22 M.S. will join Amazon as a software development engineer, and he’s excited to combine his passions for data and technology.

Sharath Raj ’22 M.S. is interested in data analysis and its ability to impact business. He is also passionate about learning more about business standards and exploring ways to continue to improve them.

Raj, who has a background in technology and a degree in computer science and engineering, recently accepted an offer from Amazon. This summer, he will begin working as a software development engineer, and he will be based in Boston.

“I am excited to work on new things and learn different technologies that will eventually help me drive my business and stand out from the competition,” he said.

WPI Inflation At 13 56 As Firms Fight Rising Costs

India’s annual wholesale price-based inflation eased marginally in December to 13.56%, but remained in double digits for a ninth successive month, reflecting rising input costs for firms, many of which are steadily passing on costs to consumers.

December’s figure was marginally lower from the previous month’s 14.23%, which was the highest in more than a decade, government data showed on Friday.

Rising input costs for products such as fuel, metals and chemicals have pushed up wholesale prices, a proxy for producers’ prices, in recent months, while headline retail inflation is hovering around 5%, still within the 2%-6% target of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The RBI left the benchmark repo rate (INREPO=ECI) unchanged at 4.0% for a ninth consecutive meeting last month as economic growth remains a challenge amid rising COVID-19 cases.

IIM Amritsar launches data science & business analytics program

IIM Amritsar has launched a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Data Science & Business Analytics (DSBA). The curriculum focuses on the tools and techniques to analyse, formulate, and find solutions to business problems.

The one-year program is designed for graduates with up to 2 years of work experience. The program will be offline for the most part and take place at the IIM Amritsar campus. The course will help students develop an advanced understanding of the fields using in-demand tools and techniques, case studies, and capstone projects.

The program aims to upskill the youth to meet the rising demand for skilled professionals in data science and analytics. 

According to Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director of IIM Amritsar, The DSBA program has been designed to prepare students for various data science-related roles.

Fresh graduates can apply for the DSBA program until March 15, 22 and working professionals can apply for the EMBA program
